LCDR Kennedy joined the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2010. She is currently a Compliance Officer within FDA’s Office of Regulatory Affairs Human and Animal Food Division 4 East, where she ensures non-compliant establishments make necessary changes to meet the regulations and determines the most suitable course of action, including the recommendation of legal action.
Prior to becoming a Compliance Officer, LCDR Kennedy worked as an Investigator in both the Florida and Denver Districts where she gained extensive experience performing both domestic and foreign inspections of regulated facilities including Dietary Supplements, Juice and Seafood HACCP, Acidified and Low Acid Canned Foods, Egg and Produce Safety, and Preventive Controls for Human Foods.
LCDR Kennedy is a Commissioned Corps Officer in the U.S. Public Health Service and has deployed multiple times, most recently to the Javitz Center in NYC to assist with COVID-19 response. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Florida State University and a Master’s degree in Public Health/Global Health with a focus on Infection Control and Tropical and Communicable Diseases from the University of South Florida.
