Ms. Wanda J. Torres is the Recall Coordinator for the Office of Human and Animal Food Operations Division 4 East. In this capacity, she monitors all recall events related to human and animal foods regulated by the FDA in Puerto Rico, Florida, and US Virgin Islands. Before becoming Recall Coordinator, she worked as an FDA investigator for 20+ years, fourteen (14) of them as a Medical Device Specialist, with experience conducting domestic and foreign inspections. She was a member of the FDA Medical Device Course Advisory Group responsible in delivering training courses to FDA Investigators nationwide. Ms. Torres has a Bachelor Degree in Biology and a Master Degree in Clinical Microbiology from the University of P.R., Medical Sciences Campus. Prior to work with the FDA she worked for the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Infectious Disease Branch, in San Juan, as a Molecular Virologist Research Assistant.
